The Worldwide Cricket Council (ICC) has relocated the upcoming Below-19 World Cup 2024 to South Africa from Sri Lanka, owing to the continued suspension of the latter’s cricket board. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) was suspended by the ICC instantly after the World Cup because it discovered the board in “critical breach of its obligations as a Member, particularly, the requirement to handle its affairs autonomously and make sure that there isn’t any authorities interference within the governance, regulation and/or administration of cricket in Sri Lanka.”
