Unlawful betting app Mahadev E-book is amongst 21 software program and web sites blocked by the centre following investigations by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the federal government stated in a press release immediately.
“The Ministry of Electronics and Info Expertise (MeitY) has issued blocking orders towards 22 unlawful betting apps and web sites, together with Mahadev E-book and Reddyannaprestopro,” the federal government stated within the assertion through the Press Info Bureau (PIB).
“The motion follows investigations carried out by the Enforcement Directorate towards unlawful betting app syndicate and subsequent raids on Mahadev E-book in Chhattisgarh, revealing the app’s illegal operations,” the federal government stated.
The federal government motion comes on a day when an accused in a cash laundering case claimed that Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had requested him to go to the UAE. The accused, Shubham Soni, who is needed by the ED for alleged cash laundering, made a video from Dubai during which he made the intense allegation towards Mr Baghel.
The case entails allegations of cash laundering and use of unlawful funds throughout election towards Mr Baghel, which comes days earlier than Chhattisgarh is anticipated to vote. Chhattisgarh is the one state the place the Congress is seen as being on a powerful wicket.
