Bengal MPs, Leaders “Dragged, Manhandled” By Delhi Police: Trinamool

Mamata Banerjee’s get together has alleged that its MPs and leaders have been “manhandled and mercilessly dragged” away by cops on Day 2 of their Delhi protest over central funds. 

The Trinamool Congress, which was holding a dharna on the Union Rural Improvement Ministry, claimed that the Minister of State Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti refused to satisfy them saying she wouldn’t meet greater than 5 representatives.

“At the moment 02:30 hours was wasted. I left the workplace at 08:30 whereas ready for the Trinamool MPs. Based on my info, the delegation of Trinamool MPs and Bengal ministers had taken an appointment within the workplace at 06:00,” the Minister tweeted.

The ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal has accused the BJP-led NDA authorities of withholding Rs 15,000 crore in dues to the state below the Mahatma Gandhi Nationwide Rural Employment Assure Act (MGNREGA) and PM Awas Yojana.

The BJP has rejected the cost and accused the Trinamool of doing a “drama” in Delhi to divert consideration from the scams in West Bengal.
